The Trip Manager
Ambrose scramble
Teams hit, play the best shot and write one score per hole, with a team handicap.
- On a trip, bucks, work or charity day, set a round’s format to Ambrose scramble. For a quick round, pick Ambrose scramble and a team size when you set it up.
- Tee off. GolfBreak deals balanced teams for you. On a golf day with playing groups, each group is a team.
- Tap Teams on the scoring screen to rename a team or move a player: tap the player, then the team they’re joining.
- Each hole, any player in the team enters the team’s score once. Every phone and the dashboard update live.
The team handicap
- Combined handicaps divided by twice the number of players: teams of 2 ÷ 4, teams of 3 ÷ 6, teams of 4 ÷ 8. A missing handicap counts as 0.
- The team’s strokes are spread by stroke index like a player’s, so a team thru 9 compares fairly with a team thru 12.
The leaderboard
- Ranked by net to par, or switch to Stableford on the Teams screen.
- Ties go to the better gross, then countback over the last 9, 6, 3 and 1 holes.
- It shows on the round’s board, the dashboard at play.golfbreak.com.au and TV mode.
An Ambrose score belongs to the team’s best shots, so it doesn’t earn personal badges or count toward the Green Jacket or Order of Merit. Dice, cards and chaos points still play as normal.
