Organiser guide
The golf day organiser checklist
For bucks parties, trips and society days. Copy it, tick it off, relax on the day.
Dates are a guide. Big trips need the longer lead times, a Saturday four needs about a week.
The timeline
| When | Task |
|---|---|
| 8 to 12 weeks out | Pick the date and course. Confirm group size, set a budget, pick the format and send a save-the-date. |
| 6 to 8 weeks out | Book tee times and accommodation, collect deposits, choose captains or teams, set the handicap lock date. |
| 4 weeks out | Confirm numbers and dietary needs, share the itinerary, decide the dress code, plan transport. |
| 2 weeks out | Collect handicaps, create teams or hold the draft, build pairings and tee-time groups, order prizes and trophies. |
| 1 week out | Check the weather and the rain plan. Send final tee times and meeting points. Print scorecards or set up the app. |
| The day before | Confirm numbers. Pack balls, tees, markers, pencils, the Roll Kit and the trophies. |
| On the day | Arrive early, brief the group on pace and format, start on time, take photos. |
| After | Post results, awards and photos. Settle up, ask for feedback and save the date for next year. |
The rain plan
Book a sim bar, an indoor venue or a clubhouse backup in advance, and tell the group how you’ll switch if the weather turns.
