This page explains, in plain English, what the GolfBreak app and this website collect, where it goes and what we do with it. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell it.

What the app collects

When your group plays a round together, the app shares the round between everyone’s phones. To do that it sends these details to our sync server:

• The occasion: its name, venue and dates, and the group’s settings such as the Chaos Dial, stakes and content filters.
• Players: the names or nicknames entered, handicaps and teams.
• The round: scores, dice rolls, cards drawn, Studio wheel spins and secret missions.
• Things you write: bucks secret cards and run-sheet, and any Studio wheels, dice and rules your group uses.
• An install ID: a random ID the app generates for itself. It is not your Apple device ID or advertising ID.

The sync server runs at play.golfbreak.com.au and is hosted on Fly.io in Sydney, Australia.

What stays on your phone

The demo data that comes with the app stays on your device. Rounds you play without signal stay on your phone until it reconnects, then sync to the group.

What we use it for

Only to share the round live between your group’s phones and to let guests join by link. We don’t use it for advertising or profiling, and we don’t sell it. The app has no analytics, no advertising SDKs and no tracking across other apps or websites.

Join codes and who can see a round

There are no accounts or sign-ins yet. Anyone who has an occasion’s join code can view and join that occasion, so the code works like a key: share it only with your group. Join attempts are rate-limited to stop people guessing codes.

This website

If you use the venue or contact form, we receive the details you type in, such as your name, email, venue and message, and we use them only to reply. Form messages are passed to us by email. The website doesn’t use analytics or advertising trackers.

Photos, clips and other people

Media and bucks content are private to the group by default. Nothing is posted publicly without the consent of the person in it.

How long we keep it, and your choices

We keep round and occasion data until you ask us to delete it. You can ask us to see, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing hello@golfbreak.com.au.

Under 18s

GolfBreak is designed for adults. Family modes are available for groups that include juniors, but we don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We’ll update this page as GolfBreak grows, including before accounts or sign-in launch, and change the date at the top when we do.
