Custom golf days

A golf day that brings everyone together.

Most golf days end the way they start: the same people, in the same carts, at the same table. We design bespoke days for workplaces, schools and communities where every hole mixes people up, and everyone goes home knowing someone new.

How we design for connection

Five things every day we build gets right.

  1. Mix the groupsWe draw teams across the room: departments, year levels, clubs and ages, with experience spread through every team. People play with someone they wouldn’t have picked, and that’s the point.
  2. Give every hole a shared jobHole cards like Mute Mates or Rival picks only work if the team, and the team beside them, play along. The conversation starts itself.
  3. Make every ability matterScramble formats, a club chosen by the dice and bonuses that don’t depend on handicap. A beginner’s shot can win the hole.
  4. Keep it easy to be inNothing aimed at bodies, age or skill. Drinking and money prompts stay off unless you switch them on. Every card works for someone brand new and a little nervous.
  5. Finish togetherOne leaderboard on the clubhouse screen, awards that aren’t only about golf, and a recap every team can share.
The example · Friday 27 November

Edithvale Dads’ Golf Day.

A school community, one afternoon. Dads from across Edithvale Primary School play two waves of two-player Ambrose on nine holes, and every hole has its own card. Some make you talk to the team beside you. One makes you stop talking altogether.

Teams join with one code and get their start hole straight away. The next card lands the moment a score is saved, and the whole day finishes on one leaderboard at the barbecue.
